I only spent one weekend in Savannah, but I absolutely loved it. The historic area is beautiful beyond words, one of the most unique cities in America. The squares and the homes are mysterious and gorgeous. Trees dripping with Spanish moss. You can almost lose yourself walking through town. The bar scene was surprisingly young and laid back. Overall, it's a place to go and wander. Park your car and leave it. Go, stay in the historic district, take your time, and soak up the southern feel and the postcard-perfect scenes. I know I will definitely be back.

Georgia is a diverse state combining beaches, mountains, history, intriguing natural attractions, the booming metropolis of Atlanta, and antebellum charm all wrapped up into one great package.
Half a dozen interstate highways traverse the state; Atlanta's mammoth international airport is one of the world's busiest; Georgia's own hard-surfaced highway system is one of the finest in the country today. Savannah, America's first planned city, has one of the nation's largest historical urban landmark districts, encompassing more than a thousand architecturally and historically important buildings. Ocean beaches and islands are plentiful all the way from Savannah down to the Florida border.

Drive through the North Georgia montains in the Fall. The scenery is beautiful.
The South is a great place and Georgia is great to visit. Between Macon, Atlanta and Savannah there is a ton of stuff to do. One of the things I really enjoy is going to the different festivals. There are SO many of them in Georgia.

When Ray Charles sang the famous song "Georgia on My Mind,” the world learned that even in dreams, Georgia is an unforgettable place. Whether you talk about the state’s diverse and ever-changing landscapes, its patchwork of cultures, rich heritage, or warm, friendly people, Georgia’s magic “comes as sweet and clear as moonlight through the pines.” From ancient mountains to rolling rivers, charming towns to a bustling metropolis, Georgia offers whatever it is you’re looking for.
The perfect blend of outdoor entertainment and recreation and Georgia's #1 attraction. The Mountain itself is the world's largest mass of exposed granite and features the Confederate Memorial Carving. The Park's newest attraction is the Treehouse Challenge, Atlanta's Ultimate Kid's Adventure, located in Crossroads. Other attractions include Georgia's ONLY 4D Theater, the Great Barn, Sky lift, Plantation, Riverboat, Train and much more including the World's Largest Lasershow Spectacular.

Brasstown Bald, Towns County
Highest in a spine of mountains collectively known as Wolfpen Ridge, Brasstown Bald looms over the Southern Appalachians taller but less popular than its' better known brothers, Blood and Trey Mountains. The pristine wilderness from which Brasstown Bald rises is in and of itself unique. Below the peak to the north and east is a "cloud forest," the only one in Georgia. Today Arthur Woody still greets visitors to the tower that he conceived, originally designed and, with the help of the federal government, built. The visitor's center at the top of the mountain and the gift shop/bookstore at the base are open daily from May to October and on weekends through November.

Road to Tara Museum, Jonesboro
Civil War buff or lover of history, you will find something to enjoy at the Road To Tara Museum, located in Jonesboro’s 1867 Historic Train Depot. Nowhere can the impact of Margaret Mitchell’s literary tribute to her ancestral home—and the classic 1939 film based on it—be felt more deeply than in this museum. The spirits of Mitchell, Clark Gable’s Rhett Butler, Vivien Leigh’s Scarlett O’Hara, and a host of other Hollywood characters color the exhibits. The antebellum years and the Civil War make their presence felt through such exhibits as an authentic “Sherman’s necktie” and the depot’s original Fairbank Scale, used to weigh cargo, specifically cotton. Come and travel back in time! More about the Road to Tara Museum.
